WOW! What an incredible evening at the Miss Tees Valley 2018 Live Grand Final, in association with the Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough!! The sold out event took place on August 31st in the stunning ballroom of The Swan Hotel, Billingham.
With the World Cup as our inspiration, 2018 was the year of sports, i.e. "Miss Tees Valley All Stars!". Upcoming Freestyle Football Star, Shaad Aziz opened the show with a fantastic set of skills and tricks and then the 21 finalists took to the stage in their sports themed wear: from football kits, to dance costumes, to tennis attire! The finalists also took to the stage in outfits of choice and evening wear and our special guest performer for the evening, Danielle Ripley brought the house down, performing classics such as Oasis, Wonderwall!
We are so excited to announce that this year we raised over £13,000 for the MFC Foundation and Zoes Place, Baby Hospice, Middlesbrough!!! Bringing the Miss Tees Valley competition's overall fundraising total to over £70,000 for Teesside based charities since 2012!!!! WOW! A huge thank you to everyone who helped raise such an incredible amount!!
Before crowning our new winner, we held a luxury charity raffle in aid of our two chosen charities, with prizes including a 3 night stay for 2 in Blackpool at one of the 'Royal' hotels including breakfast and a 4 course dinner each day, courtesy of Blackpool Promotions, stadium tours of the Riverside Stadium and Cleveland Centre Gift Cards! We then said an emotional goodbye to Miss Tees Valley 2017, Mollie Kell. What an incredible representative for the area and true role model she has been throughout her reigning year! After some lovely speeches Mollie took to the catwalk for her final walk as Miss Tees Valley! Mollie was also part of our judging panel, alongside Zoes Place Community Fundraiser, Rachael Willmore, guest performer Danielle Ripley and Top Model of Sunderland 2018, Georgia Mordey.
A huge congratulations to Teesside University student, Megan Daniels, 19, from Barnard Castle who was crowned Miss Tees Valley 2018. 1st Runner-Up was Beth Dang, 22, from Stockton and 2nd Runner-Up was Rachael Lowe, 21, from Darlington! All of the finalists looked and performed absolutely incredibly and we are sad to say goodbye to the Miss Tees Valley Class of 2018!
Thank you to our other main sponsors The Dressworx and Flawless Photography Studio, as well as all of our finalist sponsors, who's support allows the competition to keep growning year on year!
Stay tuned for the Miss Tees Valley 2019 theme to be announced soon!! The 2019 Live Grand Final will take place on Friday 23rd August at The Swan Hotel Billingham!
